In an effort to protect the interests of local farmers and maintain stability in the fertilizer market, a monitoring drive was conducted in Hosenpur, Kishoreganj. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a surprise raid was carried out in the Govindapur area, led by the Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator of Hosenpur, Md. Mohsi Masnad. The operation was part of a regular monitoring initiative to ensure that farmers can purchase essential fertilizers at government-mandated prices. During the inspection, a dealer in Govindapur Bazar was caught selling urea fertilizer at a price significantly higher than the official rate. Consequently, the dealer was fined 10,000 BDT for violating consumer rights and government directives, alongside a stern warning against future malpractice. Following the operation, AC (Land) Md. Mohsi Masnad stated that farmers are the lifeblood of the economy and emphasized that no one will be allowed to charge even a single Taka above the government rate. The drive, supported by law enforcement and administrative officials, was widely welcomed by the local farming community.
