A tragic incident in the city of Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, has claimed the life of a Bangladeshi expatriate identified as Bacchu Mia (35). On Sunday, March 8, just before the Iftar hour, a missile reportedly struck a labor camp belonging to the Al-Tuwaiq Baladia Company, resulting in a fatal explosion. Bacchu Mia, a resident of West Fekamara village in Katiadi, Kishoreganj, was the son of Rais Uddin and the sole provider for his family, including his two daughters, one of whom is mentally challenged. He was known for his political affiliation with the Saudi branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, a connection confirmed by local party leaders in Kishoreganj. Sources from the Makkah expatriate community noted that the attack occurred near an area housing a U.S. military base. Following the news of his sudden death, a deep sense of grief has overwhelmed his family and his local community back in Bangladesh.
