In Rudayan, Uttar Pradesh, India, three Muslim men were violently attacked while collecting Zakat during the holy month of Ramadan. The victims, Abdus Salam (58), Mohammad Arif (34), and Javed Khan (53), were reportedly targeted because of their religious identity and their charitable work. A video of the assault, which shows the attackers physically assaulting the men and hurling abuses at them, quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation. Local police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the attack and registered a formal case.
