Kishoreganj Correspondent: A prayer and Milad Mahfil was held in Kishoreganj on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, seeking forgiveness and peace for her departed soul.
The programme was held after Asr prayers at Noor Mosque in Rathkhola area of Kishoreganj town. Leaders and activists of the municipal BNP, upazila BNP, district Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and other affiliated organisations attended the event. People from different professions also participated.
A special prayer was offered seeking the forgiveness and eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia. Prayers were also offered for the welfare of BNP leaders and activists, the well-being of the country and its people, and the restoration of democracy.
The party leaders and activists expressed their commitment to upholding Begum Khaleda Zia’s political ideals and continuing the spirit of her democratic movement.
Among those present were Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Md. Amin Ur Rashid; State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku; Kishoreganj District BNP President and State Minister for Textiles and Jute Shariful Alam; Kishoreganj District BNP General Secretary and Member of Parliament for Kishoreganj-1 constituency Mazharul Islam; MP for Kishoreganj-3 constituency Jalaluddin; Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Khaled Saifullah; and BNP leader VP Sohel, along with leaders of BNP’s affiliated organisations.
A special prayer was offered for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul. The programme concluded with the distribution of tabarruk among the participants.
