In the annual election of the Kishoreganj District Bar Association held on Wednesday (March 4), the BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum secured a dominant victory, winning 9 out of 14 executive positions, including the key posts of President and General Secretary. In contrast, the Awami League-backed Sammilito Ainjibi Somonno Parishad managed to secure 5 positions. Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Md. Idris Ali officially announced the results at approximately 9:30 PM, declaring Advocate Md. Mizanur Rahman as the new President with 199 votes and Advocate Md. Aminul Islam Ratan as General Secretary with 265 votes.
The Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum also saw uncontested wins for the posts of Librarian, Cultural Secretary, and Auditor, alongside victories for one Vice President and three executive member positions. The Somonno Parishad candidates successfully captured one Vice President post, both Assistant General Secretary positions, and two executive member seats. Despite the competitive nature of the polls, the election concluded in a peaceful atmosphere, with results being celebrated on the association premises.
