A mobile court in Hossainpur, Kishoreganj, led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator Mohsi Masnad, conducted a targeted drive against illegal soil extraction on Thursday (March 12). During the operation, which began at 11:00 AM, two individuals were fined a total of Tk 1.5 lakh for violating the ‘Sand Quarry and Soil Management Act.’ Specifically, a fine of Tk 50,000 was imposed in the Kaishma area of Ward No. 1, while a soil trader in the Paikuda Beel area of Pumdi Union was penalized Tk 1,00,000.

Following the raids, AC (Land) Mohsi Masnad emphasized that illegal mining is severely damaging the environment and destroying public infrastructure. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to continuing these enforcement actions to protect government resources and the public interest. Supported by law enforcement, the prompt administrative action has been widely praised by local residents.
