In a tragic incident arising from a trivial dispute over rice straw, a 60-year-old man named Md. Ashu Mia was stabbed to death in Dariyabad village of Hossainpur, Kishoreganj, on Monday afternoon. According to local sources, the conflict began around 5:45 PM when an altercation broke out between Ashu Mia and his cousin on a road near his house regarding straw from a paddy field. The situation escalated quickly, and the opponent stabbed Ashu Mia, leaving him critically injured. Although locals attempted to rush him to the hospital, he succumbed to his wounds on the way.
Following the incident, the Hossainpur Police conducted a rapid raid and detained three suspects. Muhammed Rashedul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hossainpur Police Station, confirmed that legal proceedings are currently underway and that additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and prevent further unrest.
